When I started my Presidential Year I, along with all of you, was unaware of what was about to occur. I was looking forward to a year full of bowling and fun, meeting new people and enjoying carrying out my presidential duties. However, it’s a very different scenario now and we are in unprecedented times. So much so that, when the youngest members of our bowling community get to their 70’s, they will be saying to their grandchildren ‘I was there’ and ‘I remember what it was like.
In the meantime, we are having to live through these times. Our Ladies’ Executive Committee, and especially our Secretary, Kathy Flood, are still working every day to make sure that we are kept up to date with all the news sent out from Bowls England and of course from Sussex County Bowls. Our thanks must go to all of them for their continued hard work and support.
My message to all of you, at this moment in time, is please keep safe and take notice of the Government’s directives. We must trust the advice given and trust that if we follow it, we will get through this adversity unscathed. I look forward to seeing you all soon, when we can safely venture out again, enjoy each other’s company and play the game we all love.
